Here Is What’s New on Netflix for June 2015

Sense8 on Netflix

The best thing about titles departing Netflix is the new stuff that arrives in their place! Here are some of our favorites, with a full list of available titles at the end:

A new sci-fi drama created by the Wachowskis (Cloud Atlas, The Matrix) & J. Michael Straczynski (Babylon 5, Changeling). It premiered on June 5th and the entire 12-episode season is now available.

Sense8 centers around 8 strangers from different parts of the world who become emotionally & mentally connected following a death. The show explores identity, relationships, politics, gender, sexuality, and religion. The cast consists of Brian J. Smith (Stargate Universe), Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen (The Maze Runner), Bae Doona (Cloud Atlas), Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Tena Desae, Max Riemelt, and Jamie Clayton.

Sense8 is an interesting mix of character-centered story telling, mystery, and action. And there are some memorable moments. Like in episode 6. Freaking amazing. Highly recommend.

Scandal – Season 4

Shondaland fans who missed the 4th season of Scandal can now catchup on Netflix starting June 13th. Make sure you have a large supply of popcorn and wine before you begin your binge!

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Season 2

The second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be made available for streaming on June 11th. It’s rare for a series to have a season come to Netflix so soon after its finale (it’s typically a month or two before the new season starts airing), but it’s a welcome change.

DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge – Season 1

Critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon spawned a widely lauded film sequel (and an additional film sequel slated for 2018), a children’s series, which went for two seasons on Cartoon Network, and now future seasons will be released on Netflix under the title DreamWorks Dragons: Race to the Edge.
