The Best Black Friday(Thanksgiving?) Deals of 2014

We’ve cherry-picked some of the best deals on this year’s most popular items. Most of these are a *limited-quantities-available-while-supplies-last type of thing, so good luck!

A variety of iPads, new and old, will see a variety of sales this year from straight-up discounts to bundled with gift cards.

iPad Air 2

Best Buy – 100 dollars off all iPad Air 2 models. This is the biggest straight-up savings. Offer valid in store & online. Starts Thursday at 5PM. Tickets will be handed out for select offers at Best Buy stores 2 hours in advance.

Target – $499 for 16GB Wi-Fi model (standard price), comes bundled with a $140 Target gift card. The best value if you’re okay with a gift card. Offer valid in stores & online, limited quantity. Starts Thursday night at 6PM.

Walmart – $489 (10 dollars off) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model, and it comes bundled with a $100 Walmart gift card. Reportedly going on now in some Walmart stores and will continue until Friday.

Apple Store – Full price; all new models come with a 50 dollar iTunes gift card. This isn’t the best deal, but Apple isn’t known for its Black Friday sales. It’s also available online.

iPad Air (First Generation)

Target – $399 for 16GB with Wi-Fi, bundled with a $100 Target gift card. In stores & online, available now while supplies last.

iPad Mini 3

Walmart – The newest in the mini line for $389 and bundled with a $100 Walmart gift card.

Target – $399 and bundled with a $100 Target gift card, available now while supplies last.

iPad Mini 2

Target – $299 for the 16GB model bundled with a $100 Target gift card.

iPad Mini

Walmart – 16GB Wi-Fi model for $199 (full price is $249, currently being sold for $219), and it comes with a 30 dollar Walmart gift card. The best thing about this deal is that there’s a one-hour guarantee. If you arrive within the first hour, you’ll be able to purchase a tablet and have it shipped to your nearest store before Christmas, even if they’re sold out that day. Deal starts at 6PM and you’ll want to make sure you’re there before 7PM to take advantage of it.

iPhone 6 & 6 Plus

Sam’s Club – This deal is completely unexpected and extremely limited. $99 for the 16GB iPhone 6 model with 2-year contract. You need a Sam’s Club membership, obviously. But here’s the hard part: there are only 15 units per store available at this price. Good luck.

Walmart– This is related to the Sam’s Club deal, and might be similar in its exclusivity: if you’re a Sam’s Club member, you can get the same deal on an iPhone 6 at Walmart. Details are unclear.

Apple Store – Apple will bundle all new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus phones with a $50 iTunes gift card. This is the best deal on the new iPhones that isn’t extremely limited and likely to get you trampled. And it’s the only deal we’ve come across for the 6 Plus.

iPhone 5S

Target – 16GB model for $79 bundled with a $30 target gift card. If you include the gift card, this is the best offer for a new iPhone 5s that’s been available.

Samsung Galaxy S5

RadioShack – Free with 2-year contract or carrier financing. First 50 customers in line get a free pair of touch-screen gloves. Starts 8AM Thanksgiving morning.

Guess you’re eating turkey in the parking lot this year.

Best Buy – Samsung 55-inch 4k LED Ultra HD Smart TV for $899.99. This is the cheapest a new Samsung 4k TV of its size has ever been—it’s an even better savings than buying a refurbished model from earlier sales. Also available online.
